What We Are Up to In the Classroom

For the next few weeks we will be studying our Thanksgiving Unit.
The unit composes all subject area, including reading, writing, math and even science.
We will begin the unit by reading the book "My First Thanksgiving" and will be sharing over several days what Thanksgiving means to us personally, what we are thankful for, etc. Students will be sharing out loud, creating their own "thankful journals" and through an art project.
This unit is always one of my favorites because students share such sweet and touching thoughts! Don't worry parents, they will be sharing their journals with each of you at the Thanksgiving feast. In math, we will be working on counting by 5's, 10's and 100's, there is a thanksgiving food counting activity that will go along with this lesson.
Please remember our class Thanksgiving Feast is next Friday at 12:30!
